Frequently asked questions related to Balvatika in Kendriya vidyalaya
Kendriya Vidyalayas has started Balvatika 1, Balvatika 2 and Balvatika 3 before Class 1. It is a kind of pre schooling.
Before registering for admission in Balvatika please ensure Balvatika classes is going on in your requisite kendriya Vidyalayas or not. Then go to online admission portal of Kendriya Vidyalayas for registration.

Before registering for admission in Balvatika please ensure Balvatika 3 classes is going on in your requisite kendriya Vidyalayas or not. Then go to online admission portal of Kendriya Vidyalayas for registration process.
Minimum age for admission in Balvatika 1 is 3 years as on 31st March of that particular year.
Minimum age for admission in Balvatika 2 is 4 years as on 31st March of that particular year.
Minimum age for admission in Balvatika 3 is 5 years as on 31st March of that particular year.
Admission benefit is applicable under SGC, for classes 1 to 5 onwards 02 students per section and 02 students per class. For Balvatika zero seats are allotted.
As per admission guidelines 2025, 40(Forty) students were admitted in Balvatika .
1500 per quarter or monthly Rs.500/- per month.
Rs.25/- is the admission fee for Balvatika .
Two teachers are assigned in each section of Balvatika.
One caregiver is assigned in each section of Balvatika to look after of the Students.
Balvatika teacher is engaged in KV on Contractual basis. Rs 21250/- per month for the normal station and Rs.26250/- per month for the North East /Hard Station. Remuneration of Balvatika teachers shall be paid similar to that of Primary teacher.
Balvatika Caregiver(or helpers) is engaged in KV though outsourcing manpower services. Salary for Caregiver(or helper) shall be as per rates applicable for semi-skilled persons.
Qualification for Balvatika teachers as prescribed by NCTE is given below:
i) Senior Secondary Class (Class XII or its equivalent)from a recognised Board with at least 50% marks and
ii) Diploma in nursery Teacher education /Pre -school Education /Early
Childhood Education Programme (D.E.C.Ed) of duration of not less
than two years or B.Ed (Nursery) from NCTE recognised institutions.
Qualification for caregiver or helper shall be as prescribed by NCERT/ NCPCR:
I. Secondary class (Class X or its equivalent) from a recognised board, minimum 18 years of age and should have induction training in pre-
school Education. Or Any person possessing skill training / adequate training as prescribed by NIPCCD, NSDC or any other institution
recognized by the central Government/ appropriate Government/Recognised University /Board.
Duration of the school timings would be 03 hrs per day on a five-day week basis and the actual timings would be decided by the respective Vidyalayas.
No uniform has been prescribed for the Balvatika classes.
Fee structure shall be similar to existing Class I as per this office letter dated:31.03.2013. It will be collected through UBI portal only.
