Introduction

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan celebrates its foundation on 15 December every year. KVS Foundation Day 2024 is the 61st year of its existence. It was established in 1963. Initially Kendriya Vidyalaya was established with 20 regimental schools. At present 1256 Kendriya Vidyalayas which includes three KVs of abroad Moscow, Tehran, and Kathmandu.

Kendriya Vidyalaya is affiliated with CBSE-Central Board of Secondary Education. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is functioning under the Ministry of Education, erstwhile MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource).

History of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan(KVS) was established in the year 1963 under the name Central School Organization afterward its name was changed to Kendriya Vidyalaya.

There are mainly three categories of Kendriya Vidyalayas :

  • Defense Sector KVs
  • Project Sector KVs
  • Civil Sector KVs

There are five ZIETs (Zonal Institute of Education and Training) of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) are hereunder:

ZIETs are autonomous bodies under the Government of India’s Ministry of Education (MoE). They conduct training and orientation programs for KVS employees exclusively.

KVS Foundation Day, 2024 Celebration function was held on 15th December 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishna Auditorium, Campus of K.V. No.2 Delhi Cantt. Hon’ble Minister of State of Education, Sh.Jayant Choudhary was the Guest of Honour.
