Swami Vivekananda was born on 12th January 1863 in Calcutta (now known as Kolkata), west Bengal at his ancestral home at 3 Gour Mohan Street, Calcutta. His father’s name was Sri Vishwanath Datta and his mother’s name was Smt. Bhubaneshwari Devi. His father was an attorney at Calcutta High Court and his mother was a housewife.
Swami Vivekananda’s childhood name was Narendra or Naren. Narendranath was very much interested in spirituality from his childhood. He was an intelligent student known for his sharp memory and ability at speed reading. He completed his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1884.

National Youth Day 2024
National Youth Day is celebrated on 12th January every year in all over India. India has been celebrating this day since 1985. This year we are celebrating 39th National Youth Day.
National Youth Day is also known as Rashtriya Yuva Diwas. Which is observed all over India. The institution is organizing various activities on that day.
Objective to celebrate the National Youth Day 2024
The main objective of celebrating National Youth Day in India is to inculcate the teaching, ideas, and philosophies of Swami Vivekananda in the students and the youth of the country.
Apart from that through celebrating his birth anniversary, we should also try to inculcate the high values and morals of Swami Vivekananda among the youth of the country.
